WHY WE USE THIS TEST: Not only does it test free hormone levels (which tell us how much your body is producing), but it also tests hormone metabolites (which tells us how effectively your body is at metabolizing, processing and excreting, your hormones). Hormone metabolism is just as important as production and can be just as problematic if not functioning properly.

LAB INFORMATION:

Although this lab cannot be run through insurance, if you have a PPO, you can request a superbill from the lab by writing “please send patient superbill” on the requisition. If you would like to request a superbill from the lab, please make sure that your diagnosis codes are listed on the requisition. If you don’t see them, call the office and our staff can provide them for you. You can submit the superbill you attain from the lab to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

**Please note that you must avoid eating avocados, bananas, and fava beans for 48 hours before collecting this test.

The kits now come with pre-paid mailing labels, so you do not need to use stamps.
