Hello everyone, Dr. Derek here. Short video today: we're going to be talking about Transcranial Low-Level Laser Therapy for stress and anxiety. I'm really excited about this treatment. We do it routinely on a lot of my patients because, quite honestly, who doesn't have stress, and every once in a while we all get a little anxious. Some of my patients call this a “laser Xanax.” I've never taken a Xanax, so I don't know how it feels; however, it seems to help them a lot—particularly in the moment.
So what we do: it's actually Transcranial Low-Level Laser Therapy. We take the probe, we put it on a specific spot in their head, and this particular location is actually designed to hit some of the centers of the brain that are overactive during stress and anxiety. Then we turn the probe on […] and we wait it takes about five minutes sometimes we'll do one or two different spots—depending on whether they're male or female. Believe it or not, there's a difference in a male brain and a female brain. I'm sure none of you are particularly surprised by that.
